Welcome to the latest issue of EarnForex.com newsletter — June
2012.
In this issue of EarnForex.com newsletter I will remind you about the
most important Forex-related events of the last month and will also
show you the list of the site's latest updates.

Overview of the major currency pairs' performance in May*
*EUR/USD* — headed straight down with almost no bullish bars at
all. It was at the maximum at 1.3283 on May 1, at its minimum at
1.2336 on May 31, finishing the month at 1.2364.
*GBP/USD* — declined with an even steeper slope than EUR/USD. The
highest monthly rate was at 1.6246 on May 1, while the lowest — at
1.5359 on May 31. GBP/USD finished May trading at 1.5404.
*USD/JPY* — also fell significantly last month. The pair rose to as
high as 80.54 on May 16, reaching a bottom at 78.20 on May 31 and
closing the month with the 78.30 rate.
*EUR/JPY* — went down, reaching a new record low. The monthly high
was at 106.20 on May 1, the monthly low — at 96.50 on May 31.
Trading ended at 96.83 for this currency pair.
*GBP/JPY* — fell extremely fast in May. The maximum level for this
pair was at 130.15 on May 1, while the minimum — at 120.14 on May
31. The month's trading ended at 120.63 for GBP/JPY.

Fundamental background of the past month*
Greece was the main source of fundamental news in the foreign
exchange market
in May. Despite the growing economic output in leading European
countries, the
political and fiscal troubles in Greece combined with the worsening
situation
in banking system of Spain have moved the euro down at an
extraordinary pace.
Greece May legislative elections were followed by an unsuccessful
attempt to
form government, resulting in new elections planned for June. There
is much
doubt that the political parties that win the elections will be
accepting new
austerity measures required to contain the crisis. The talks of
Greece
leaving eurozone

became highly popular in May. Meanwhile, Spain is now even
more
likely

to become the next greece.
Commodities — gold, silver, but mainly oil — were badly
harmed by the situation in the eurozone. Demand for them (both
speculative and
real) has diminished greatly, pushing the prices down. And with
commodities fell
the commodity-dependent currencies, e.g.: Canadian dollar, Russian
ruble and
Australian dollar.
