The October 29, 2010 on-line issue of My Black News gives a sample of approach of bringing relevant news and developments to the African American community which increasingly includes engagement with the global Black community. As sourced from PRWEB [Catonsville, MD, USA]"Global Black Search Engine Launches" reported the project of Obi Linton who, tired of struggling to find unique African, African American, Afro European and Caribbean blogs and websites online, founded the Annual Black Web Awards developed GatewayBlack, the global Black search engine. As Linton explained, he hopes that "like many of these search engines, our hope is that GatewayBlack. will help create an environment where promotion of one's heritage is seen as an invitation for learning, unity and the appreciation of shared experiences that build true understanding." The article, "Why the Star of David Rises Across Africa" from the Jewish Chronicle reports on the growth and development of Jewish communiti es in a number of African countries such as in Mali, Ghana, Nigeria, the Congo and Rwanda. "Throughout Africa, the idea of Judaism is becoming more and more important, as is identification with Israel," says Tudor Parfitt, professor of Hebrew at London University's School of Oriental and African Studies [SOAS]. African Judaism, Professor Parfitt says, has "different strands". Some groups have been influenced by the Black Hebrews, the American movement which believes the Israelites originally came from Africa.
